Pre-cursor to my first week in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom.
...And let me tell you, it was one hell of a week.
Travel-
Well, if you didn't know, I am from Chicago, IL.
I left Chicago O'hare Airport on Friday, May 30th 2014. This day also happened to be my 21st Birthday. Turn up right?
It was a great day.
I went to the spa for 3 hours and rushed off to the Airport. I was running right on time. Literally. Of course things just could not go smoothly for me. I got to the airport and checked in and the a** of a clerk, told me that I had to pay $200 dollars for my extra luggage.
I paid it and moved on. She was NOT going to ruin, HIS 21st birthday and first class trip to London.
I finally boarded the plane. Then it was real. I was really on my way to the UK. I think I wanted to cry a little bit. I had worked for over year planning this trip and internship experience, and it was finally here.
It is a great feeling when you can see something that you thought you would never see happen, happen.
Since it was my birthday I helped myself to 5 glasses of red wine on the plane. The wine was a great addition to the 5 course meal!!
After dinner. I put my bed out and turned on 12 years a slave and fell asleep.
5 hours later I was awaken by the flight attendant kate. She had my breakfast in hand!
Arrival was in one hour.
Arrival in Edinburgh, Scotland.
A M A Z I N G.
Well the first thing someone said to me when i got off the plane was,
OLD Lady: Excuse me sir,
Me: YES?
Lady: No one else would tell you this here...
Me: OH LORD...
Lady: Whispering You have a small slit in your trousers, on your behind. You may want to wear your blazer until you can repair them. I don't have my sewing kit with me now.
Me: WHAT? Screams laughing Thank you so much. I actually know how to sew and have my sewing kit in my luggage. Puts on blazer slowly.
What a welcome into the United Kingdom.
After I collected my luggage a nice lady with a sign with my name on it!
Her name, Arianne. She is my on-site coordinator for my trip.
